ABOUT COMMUNITY180
Community180, founded in 2019 by David and Sharissa Richard, is a community-driven initiative dedicated to supporting youth, families, and underserved populations. It began with events like the Youth Explosion Community Youth Choir, uniting young people through music. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Community180 shifted its focus to disaster relief, distributing food and essential items to thousands of families in need. Merging with DGR Ministries in 2022, it expanded into faith-based outreach and launched programs like the Community Care Boxes, which provide household essentials to help families save on expenses. The organization’s annual Christmas Giveaway brings joy to over 5,000 children and families each year. Community180’s latest project, HUG Houston, focuses on helping underserved families and unhoused individuals through vital community support efforts.
