ABOUT COMMUNITY180

Community180 is a faith-based nonprofit organization serving underserved families in Houston and Southeast Texas. Our mission is simple: to build bridges between families and the resources that matter most—care, education, employment, and community support, so they can move from survival to stability.

Since 2020, we have provided school supply drives, community care boxes, mentorship, and outreach events that connect families with immediate support and long-term solutions. To date, more than 23,000 lives have been impacted through these efforts.

At the heart of our work is the belief that strong families create strong communities. By connecting people, organizations, and opportunities, Community180 transforms lives, restores hope, and strengthens neighborhoods for generations to come.

OUR APPROACH

Community180 takes a strategic, data-informed approach to community transformation, built on consistent engagement, cross-sector partnerships, and a deep understanding of the systemic challenges families face. According to the United Way ALICE Report, nearly 49% of households in Harris County are either living in poverty or classified as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) meaning they earn above the Federal Poverty Level but not enough to afford basic necessities like housing, childcare, food, transportation, and healthcare.

In the North Houston region, this reality is even more stark. Families are often overlooked by traditional support systems, resulting in compounding needs that go unmet. Community180 exists to bridge this gap. Our programs are designed to not only respond to urgent needs, but to also lay a foundation for long-term stability and economic mobility.

Our model focuses on three key pillars:

  • Immediate Relief through programs like HUG Houston, which distributes Community Care Boxes filled with essential household and hygiene products, saving families up to $50 per month in out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Empowerment & Education, offering financial literacy training, youth mentorship, and family support services that address root causes of generational poverty.

  • Sustainable Partnerships with local businesses, churches, and schools that ensure resources remain within reach of the families who need them most.

By combining practical support with relational trust, Community180 goes beyond charity, we foster community. Our approach is informed by data, guided by faith, and fueled by the belief that every family deserves the opportunity to thrive. We don't just show up during the holidays; we remain committed year-round, turning moments of help into pathways of hope.

OUR PARTNERS

Community180 is honored to partner with esteemed organizations such as Lakewood Church, Operation Blessing, and Procter & Gamble (P&G), each playing a vital role in advancing our mission to serve underserved families in Houston and Southeast Texas. Through the generosity of Lakewood Church, we’ve been able to expand our outreach capacity and reach communities often overlooked. Operation Blessing has provided critical support in times of crisis, allowing us to respond swiftly with emergency resources and disaster relief. Procter & Gamble, a global leader in everyday essentials, has strengthened our Community Care Box initiative by helping supply high-quality hygiene and household items that bring dignity and relief to struggling families. These partnerships not only enhance our ability to meet urgent needs, they affirm the power of united purpose in transforming lives and building sustainable change.
